In Australia, Sunscreen is considered as a therapeutic good or pharmaceutical product. Why? Because Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the World. Sunscreen is one of the five important ways to prevent skin cancer. For this reason, the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) regulates some sunscreens as therapeutic goods in Australia.
According to Cancer Council, in laboratory conditions, when used as directed, SPF30 sunscreen filters 96.7% of UV radiation and SPF50 filters 98%. Both provide excellent protection if they are applied properly.
Only approved ingredients can be included in sunscreens, and each of these ingredients has been assessed for safety by TGA. The TGA requires the efficacy of each sunscreen product to be tested to determine the Sun Protection Factor (SPF) which is printed on the label.
We are proud to claim that our SPF 50 Sunscreen is TGA certified and safe to use to protect yourself from the harmful rays and prevent skin cancer, premature ageing and other skin damages caused by the sun.
